In this article I describe Monitoring using the Mearki Portal. It is possible to monitor the devices using SNMP, this is not what this article is about.

Configuration

Setting up monitoring in meraki is super easy.

Go to Network-wide > Alerts in the Meraki Portal.

Here you can enter the email address where you want to be notified at “Default recipients”. Below you can define what events should be reported to you.

Setting downtimes is not possible since you will be only notified once when the state changes. This can lead to a lot of mails in case of a flapping link or loops…
